Environmentally sustainable desert management program – replace straw forming the grid with biomass material
- Biomass grid is easy to form on the spot and can be made into different sizes, thickness, and densities upon requirements. It absorbs and keeps water to reduce the evaporation of water at the sand surface and hence increases the total water storage capacity of the desert
- The biomass square increases the surface roughness and minimizes the surface airflow velocity, thereby reducing the degree of sand losing.
- Biomass can degrade into organic fertilizer, which increases organic matter in the desert and improves the desert composition, to fundamentally resolve the problem of solid sand.
